Mr. DeLaney graduated from University of Bridgeport (B.S. 1968) and Syracuse University College of Law (J.D. 1972). He is a former Internal Revenue Service estate and gift tax attorney. He is Past President of the CNY Estate Planning Council.
He is a member of the American Bar Association (member Tax Section and Real Property and Probate Sections). He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association (Trust and Estate Section and Real Property Section) and Onondaga County Bar Association. He chaired the state-wide New York State Bar Association Continuing Education program Equitable Distribution and its Effect on Estate Planning. He has spoken and written on numerous New York State Bar Association programs on Estate Administration; Estate Planning; Will Drafting; Estate Taxation; Income Taxation for the Estate; Trusts; and Planning for Retirement Benefits. Mr. DeLaney has been a lecturer at Syracuse University College of Law (Estate & Gift Taxation); The American College-Graduate School of Finance Sciences (Estate Planning and Basic Pension Planning). He has also written and instructed for National Business Institute, Estate Planning Council of CNY, Central New York CPA Club, Central New York Chartered Life Underwriters, New York State Bankers Association Trust School, and several upstate New York bar associations.
